Prey, Film Photography, 8.5 x 11”, 2024
“Prey” explores a clash of perspectives: predatory stares, invasive glances, and catcalling, paired with the intimate moments of reflection on how those words have affected me. Through this photo series I examine the tension between vulnerability and survival as a woman. By carving the harmful words and phrases I grew up hearing all the time into each image, I am finally able to confront and purge them in a raw, unflinching way. Allowing the years of pain to be witnessed and heard by others and freeing myself from the cycle.
